Qualification questionnaires

Before bidding customers need to complete qualification questionnaires

The Timber Sales Qualification Form (TSQF) and Health and Safety Questionnaire (HSQ) only have to be completed once unless there is a significant change with the business. We may request the forms to be reviewed every three years to confirm details have not changed.

To receive a copy of both forms email Timber.Sales@cyfoethnaturiolcymru.gov.uk, we require 2 weeks to evaluate these forms when first received.

Submission of all the completed forms is via the following email address Timber.Sales@cyfoethnaturiolcymru.gov.uk, until HSQ & TSQF are evaluated and passed, we are unable to accept bids on sales events.

Timber Sales Credit Process

New timber customers will be required to trade as cash customers for up to 12 months prior to requesting a credit limit.

Transactional Finance Team will check that the customer is eligible and request any information required to determine the application.  Once Transactional Finance Team has all the information, the aim is to decide the application and notify the applicant within 6 weeks. Though more complex requests may take longer as it may involve legal advice.

Marketing our timber

Our policy is to market our timber in such a way as to optimise our financial return from timber sales, whilst managing the forests in a sustainable manner.

We also encourage the development of healthy and competitive timber harvesting and wood processing industries in Great Britain.

Our sales methods are:

  • Electronic Tenders
  • The majority of our open market sales of timber are conducted electronically, via our eTimber Sales application. The principal format for competitive sales is electronic tender. We hope the majority of our customers benefit by, and be able to take advantage of, online timber purchasing.

 

  • Long Term Contracts
  • Long-term contracts (LTCs) are typically five-year contracts. They are offered as standing or roadside sales. LTCs are tendered at a set volume, spread equally over the contract term. Price is typically revised annually on roadside contracts and on a lot-by-lot basis on standing contracts.
  • There are no plans to offer any further long-term contracts at present. We will continue to monitor and review the situation and will advertise any opportunities for further contracts should the need for more arise.

Conditions of removing Timber from WGWE

Contract will not start until a signed contract is returned via DocuSign & a Pre-commencement meeting has taken place with NRW Contract Manager

  1. Despatch Procedure – Attached
  2. The Customer must within 10 working days of a Despatch submit to NRW a Weighbridge Ticket obtained in accordance with Condition 6.13 along with a copy of the Despatch note in respect of that Despatch, or an electronic record of the same information as agreed with NRW.
  3. The Customer must at its own cost weigh the Products at a Weighbridge that is properly calibrated, maintained, inspected and approved for trade purposes by the relevant authority for weights & measures.
